Focusing Our Impact, Serving Our Neighbors, and Promoting a Healthier Community
Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis was established in 1984 with proceeds from the sale of Lutheran Medical Center. Since that time, the Foundation has awarded more than $75 million to nearly 500 churches and organizations.
Lutheran Foundation is committed to seeing the improved care of people in the greater St. Louis metropolitan region. The needs of our community are great, but the strength of individual and collective acts of service, catalyzed by faith, is far greater. Through our grant support to area congregations and organizations, Lutheran Foundation acts as a conduit for Christians to model Christ’s servant leadership, thereby creating a healthier community attuned to mind, body, and soul.
Lutheran Foundation has a rich heritage of partnering with area churches and agencies to positively impact the lives of hurting people. The Foundation is building on this history through the implementation of a new strategic funding plan that focuses our philanthropic efforts in five areas that address clear, measurable community needs and allows us to better understand and determine our own community impact.
We invite the community to partner with us as we provide Christian support that heals lives and the community.
